Maine Stone Symposium 2019

Some of Maine’s most notable living stone sculptors, along with international guests from Japan and Canada (participating virtually), and two interns transformed blocks of Maine granite while the public watched from July 27 - August 4 on the Boothbay Common during the Maine Stone Symposium. Public hours were 10 - 4 daily, although the artists often started early and stayed late.

The public was invited  interact with the artists and watch the sculptures develop over the ten days. It was noisy and dusty, but always fun to watch! Admission was free due to the outpouring of support from our sponsors and partners.
